24 Stories and Birmingham Royal Ballet team up for sky-high pre-show dining

Guests dining à la carte and presenting a Don Quixote ticket will also receive a complimentary glass of bubbles

This spring, 24 Stories and Birmingham Royal Ballet have collaborated on an exclusive dining experience to mark the arrival of Carlos Acosta’s exuberant production of Don Quixote at Birmingham Hippodrome.

From Thursday 12th February to Saturday 25th April, Birmingham’s most spectacular dining room, perched high above the city skyline will become the perfect curtain-raiser with a new pre-theatre dining experience.

The specially crafted Don Quixote Set Menu takes its cue from the ballet’s Spanish flair and infectious energy, featuring seasonal British ingredients, served alongside breathtaking views, all just a short stroll from Birmingham Hippodrome.

Guests can start the show with the ‘Act I – Don Quixote’ cocktail, a refreshing blend of Tanqueray, blueberry, lychee, lemon, mint and soda.

Act II

To start, diners can choose from dishes including Warm Jerusalem Artichoke velouté, Tuna Sashimi, Venison Tartare or a ‘Bull Ring’ pulled beef shin croquette.

Act III

For the main course, options include Gnocchi with preserved porcini cream and roasted cep mushrooms, South Side glazed salmon, Corn-fed chicken supreme with cashew butter chicken sauce and Black Angus sirloin (£25 supplement).

For the Final Bow, desserts include classic crème brûlée, Pineapple Eton mess or Sticky toffee pudding.

Diners that opt for the à la carte menu can also show their Don Quixote ticket to receive complimentary bubbles (available from 15th February onwards), to complete their ballet experience.

Carlos Acosta’s Don Quixote is a joyous explosion of Spanish sunshine, spectacular dance and laugh-out-loud comedy. This 19th-century classic delivers thrilling pas de deux, infectious energy and live music from the Royal Ballet Sinfonia, a must-see for anyone who loves Swan Lake or The Sleeping Beauty.

Prices for the Don Quixote-inspired dining experience start from £33 for two courses and £39 for three courses.

Pre-theatre dining is available 12 February – 25 April:

  • Lunch: Monday–Saturday, 12:00–14:30
  • Dinner: Monday–Thursday, 17:30–18:00
