PwC releases ‘Women in Work’ 2025 report

PwC Birmingham represents the largest mainland regional office outside of London with over 2,000 people located at One Chamberlain Square in Colmore Business District.

Now in its 12th year, the Women in Work Index assesses the progress made towards achieving gender equality at work across 33 OECD countries. The UK has slipped one place in the rankings, however research shows that increasing workplace participation rates of women has the potential to boost productivity in the UK economy.

This year, the report further explores the impact of gender equality on productivity and growth, with a particular focus on the UK and its performance compared to the OECD and G7 averages.

The analysis seeks to build on existing research, that gender equality has a positive influence on economic growth, by quantifying the impact of female participation rates on productivity – offering a more comprehensive understanding of its economic implications.
