LSST Birmingham Launches Interview Wardrobe to Support Student Career Opportunities

The London School of Science and Technology (LSST) Birmingham team have launched a new initiative to support student employability through the creation of an Interview Wardrobe. This project is aimed at helping students from underrepresented and underprivileged backgrounds access professional clothing for job interviews and graduate opportunities.

LSST is a Higher Education institution that specialises in supporting mature students, with the average age of its student population being 35 and above. Many of its students are working single parents or individuals who have faced significant barriers to education and career progression.

Recognising the importance of making a strong first impression during the job application process, the Careers Team at LSST Birmingham is seeking donations of gently used professional attire. Suitable items include men’s and women’s suits, shirts, blouses, trousers, dresses, and shoes in good condition.

The Interview Wardrobe initiative is part of LSST’s wider commitment to social mobility, aiming to remove practical barriers that may prevent students from progressing into meaningful employment after graduation.

Members of the public, local businesses, and organisations interested in supporting the initiative are encouraged to get in touch.
