MFG New Trainees

New trainees join leading Birmingham law firm as it invests in the next generation

A group of nine new trainees has joined mfg Solicitors, reflecting the firm’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of legal talent.

The new trainees, who began their two-year training contracts on 1 September 2025, are Oliver Leigh, Bethany Steel, Alena Dudrah, Jack Cook, and Tayler Bannister. Each trainee will gain experience across different departments within the firm as part of their comprehensive training programme.

Three of the trainees — Alena, Jack, and Tayler — were previously paralegals at the firm and will now transition into full-time training contracts, all managed and overseen by partners Tom Esler and Sam Pedley.

They are joined by Qualifying Work Experience (QWE) trainees: Emily Thompson, Asifur Rahman, Joanne Pickett, and Victoria Cairns-Terry, who will gain practical exposure to the firm’s operations.

Commenting on the intake, Tom Esler, partner and training principal at mfg Solicitors, said: “Every year we take on an exceptional group of trainee solicitors and this year is no different. All nine trainees have showcased their passion to carve out successful careers in the legal sector and we believe they are amongst the region’s best and strongest young talent. We look forward to supporting them over the coming years during their training contracts and watching them thrive across our specialist teams and departments.”

With offices across Worcestershire, Shropshire, and Birmingham, mfg Solicitors continues to invest in local talent while strengthening its presence in the region.
