With a dedicated calendar bringing events together in one place, it’s never been easier to plan your perfect festive season in the heart of Birmingham.
Launched in 2021, Christmas in Cathedral Square was established with the support of Colmore BID and showcases a mix of local gift and craft traders from Birmingham and the wider Midlands region, alongside food and drink traders, including some from the Colmore Business District such as Purecraft, Loki Wine, and Hookway’s.
The market runs for around five weeks from mid-November to Christmas, with traders able to take part for a week or the full period, ensuring variety and opportunities for smaller businesses.
Today, the event is delivered by Birmingham City Council, Danter Attractions Limited, and Birmingham Cathedral. Birmingham Colmore has stepped away from day-to-day delivery but continues to support the market through promotion and raising awareness of this festive destination.
Birmingham Colmore has collaborated with other city-centre BIDs and partners to deliver a coordinated Christmas offering across Birmingham. This includes:
This partnership approach has helped drive footfall across the city centre and ensures visitors can easily discover everything happening during the festive season.
Work continues with Birmingham City Council and city partners each year to develop and enhance Christmas in Colmore, creating a festive experience that delights visitors, supports local businesses, and brings the community together.
