Birmingham Business Best Places to Work Awards return for 2027

Business leaders from across Birmingham gathered at Stories Tavern to launch the Birmingham Business Best Places to Work Awards 2027, celebrating organisations that put people and workplace culture at the heart of their success.

Organised by Birmingham Business magazine, the awards will return on Thursday 10 June 2027 at the University of Birmingham’s Great Hall, following the success of the inaugural event in 2026.

The awards recognise outstanding workplaces and inspirational leaders across the West Midlands, highlighting employers that create positive working environments where people feel valued, supported and proud of their work.

Henry Carpenter, editor of Birmingham Business, said the awards offer a different approach to recognising business success, focusing on the people and cultures behind an organisation rather than profit or growth alone.

He said: “These awards aren’t about celebrating an organisation’s success by profit or growth. Instead they recognise businesses which understand that a people-first culture is the cornerstone of long-term success.

“They pay tribute to innovative and caring employers who create environments where people feel valued, supported and proud of what they do.”

The 2026 awards saw several Colmore businesses recognised, including Heligan Group and Entec Si, alongside Liquid founder Lis Lewis-Jones.

Nominations for the Birmingham Business Best Places to Work Awards 2027 are now open, with businesses across the West Midlands encouraged to enter and showcase the workplace cultures they have built.
