Aon plc (NYSE: AON), has made two new appointments to its growing risk team in Birmingham.
Mitch Kotecha joins Aon as business development manager, bringing extensive experience from across the UK and international professional and financial services sectors gained working for HSBC, PWC and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank. He spent eight years in Dubai, where he gained valuable professional and personal experience, and throughout his career he has been recognised as a highly successful relationship manager.
In his role at Aon, Mitch will focus on supporting businesses across the Midlands and will work closely with clients to understand their needs through a holistic, relationship-led approach, drawing on Aon’s global capabilities to deliver tailored insurance solutions.
Mitch Kotecha said: “I pride myself on being truly client-centric and having holistic conversations to fully understand what is important to my clients before providing a solution.
“Aon’s global reach, experience and ability to provide unique solutions really appealed to me, and I’m looking forward to helping businesses across the Midlands. I started my career in this region, which shaped my early professional journey, and I’m excited to be back supporting the local business community. Ultimately, success for me will be becoming the most trusted insurance broker for my clients in the Midlands.”
Aon has also appointed Jenny Heatherley as a client service adviser. She brings more than two decades of insurance industry experience to the role having started her career in 2003 at JLT. Initially specialising in pet insurance, Jenny moved on to work across several schemes, including the NICEIC (the electrical certification body) and London Youth Clubs. She later progressed to work on commercial accounts and during this time, achieved her CII Certificate. In 2008, Jenny moved to Giles as a corporate account handler where she remained following Giles’ acquisition by Gallagher in 2013.
Jenny Heatherley said: “Aon felt like the perfect fit for me. Its core values around inclusion and wellbeing really resonated, and I already feel a strong sense of belonging.
“In my new role, I have fewer clients to service which means I can spend more time getting to know them properly and ensuring they receive the quality of service they deserve, which is something I’m really looking forward to.”
Chris Barley, head of office for Commercial Risk at Aon in Birmingham, said: “These two appointments reflect our continued commitment to investing in our people and enhancing the service we provide to our clients.
“Mitch’s proven ability to build trusted client relationships and his international experience will significantly strengthen our business development capability, while Jenny’s commitment to first-class customer service and her breadth of experience will be a fantastic addition to our team. Together, they will play an important role in supporting our clients and contributing to the continued growth of Aon’s Commercial Risk business here in Birmingham.”
