Cash for Kids and LoveBrum ultimate fundraising event: Set Me Free is back!

On Thursday 24th September a range of local business personalities from Colmore Business District and beyond will experience a spooky sleepover at the infamous HM Prison Shrewsbury.

This exclusive event is presented in partnership with TheBusinessDesk.com and brings together local business leaders and special guests to raise funds for children and young people in need.

Since 2023, 2 rounds of top local business leaders and iconic Midlands personalities including legendary band UB40 and former West Midlands Mayor Andy Street have collectively raised over £80,000. With your help we want to raise even more this year.

Our 2026 lineup includes local Colmore Business leaders from Irwin Mitchell, Howden Insurance, Clarke Willmott, HSBC, Pyvital and the F1 Arcade as well as social media personality Luke Hamnett, former Gladiator Jamie Bigg and Series 3 traitors star Fozia Fazil to name a few! You can support any of our inmates using the link https://www.cashforkidsgive.co.uk/campaign/cash-for-kids-set-me-free-2026/

As a “inmate,” you’ll be able to network and share the experience with up to 40 fellow fundraisers, each committed to making a difference. Your £1,500 fundraising target will directly support children affected by poverty, illness, and disadvantage. The more you raise, the more forgiving your experience will be. You’ll have the next eight weeks to reach your goal, with the support from the Cash for Kids and LoveBrum team every step of the way.

Don’t miss this unique event. There are still limited spaces available as well as sponsorship opportunities for businesses who want to align their brand with two local charities. Contact Adam Heard at adam@lovebrum.org.uk to discuss your night behind bars!

On September 24th, you’ll be locked in the prison overnight, engaging with the horrors of the prison, raising funds, and making lasting memories. At dawn the next day, you’ll be released, knowing that your efforts have made a real impact on children’s lives across the Midlands.
