Michele Wilby, Chief Executive of Birmingham Colmore, has been shortlisted for Woman of the Year at the highly regarded City of Birmingham Business Awards (COBBA) 2026.
The recognition celebrates Michele’s outstanding leadership, influence and contribution to Birmingham’s business community, where she has played a pivotal role in championing the city centre and strengthening its reputation as a leading commercial destination.
Since taking on the role of CEO at Birmingham Colmore in 2009 (formerly Colmore BID), Michele has helped steer the organisation through a period of significant change and growth. Under her leadership, the BID has continued to deliver impactful programmes across business support, public realm improvements, and advocacy for the district’s diverse business community.
Widely respected for her collaborative approach, Michele has worked closely with partners across the public and private sectors to elevate Birmingham’s profile, while ensuring the needs of local businesses remain front and centre. Her commitment to representing the voice of the city centre has made her a key figure in shaping Birmingham’s ongoing economic development.
The City of Birmingham Business Awards, hosted by Downtown in Business, celebrate the very best of the city’s business talent, leadership and innovation. The Woman of the Year category recognises exceptional female leaders who have demonstrated vision, resilience and a tangible impact on the regional economy.
