The Colmore Food Festival is committed to creating an event that is welcoming, accessible and environmentally responsible, while celebrating the very best of Birmingham’s local food and drink scene.
Supporting local businesses and the wider community is central to the festival. We work closely with local traders to showcase Birmingham’s hospitality sector and encourage visitors to discover and support businesses from across the city centre. The festival is free to attend, includes free children’s activities, and dish prices are capped to help keep the event affordable and accessible for everyone.
Accessibility and inclusion are also a key priority. This year, we are proud to partner with the Birmingham Disability Festival again. The site will be fully wheelchair accessible, and selected performances on Saturday will include British Sign Language (BSL) interpretation.
We are also continuing to reduce the festival’s environmental impact through a range of sustainability initiatives. Recyclable cups, cutlery and plates will be used across the site, alongside dedicated recycling and waste management processes. Traders are offering smaller portion options to help minimise food waste and promote more sustainable consumption.
To support greener travel, we are delighted to welcome West Midlands Railway as our Gold Sponsor, helping encourage visitors to use public transport to travel to and from the festival.
