Forward Gallery is proud to present a newly installed exhibition of signed works by L.S. Lowry, marking 50 years since the passing of one of Britain’s most distinctive and celebrated artists.
Now on display in Gallery 1 (Ground Floor) at Forward Gallery, 5 Cannon Street, Birmingham B2 5EP, the collection brings together a remarkable selection of Lowry’s limited-edition prints, each personally signed by the artist. The exhibition offers visitors a rare opportunity to experience Lowry’s iconic depictions of northern life in a dedicated gallery setting, featuring bustling industrial scenes, familiar streets, and quietly observed moments of everyday humanity.
Lowry’s work continues to resonate with audiences today, capturing the spirit of 20th-century Britain with a timeless clarity and emotional depth. This curated presentation highlights the enduring appeal of his unique vision and provides collectors with the opportunity to acquire works directly connected to the artist.
Complementing the exhibition, the gallery’s Masters Collection is on display in Gallery 2 (Upper Floor), featuring a dynamic selection of modern and contemporary works. Highlights include Andy Warhol’s Diamond Dust Shoes, alongside works by Tracey Emin, including her powerful self-portraits, currently the focus of her exhibition at Tate.
