As the Spirit of Pakistan Festival reaches its grand finale, audiences are invited to experience an extraordinary evening of music celebrating the rich spiritual and folk traditions of Pakistan. Presented in partnership with B:Music, this special concert brings together internationally acclaimed artists for a powerful and uplifting performance in the iconic setting of Birmingham Town Hall.
Headlining the evening is Sanam Marvi, one of the most revered voices in contemporary Sufi music. Singing in Urdu, Punjabi, Sindhi and Saraiki, Marvi is renowned for her deeply expressive interpretations of the poetry of Bulleh Shah, Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, Sachal Sarmast and other great Sufi saints. Her remarkable ability to breathe new life into centuries-old devotional traditions has earned her audiences across the globe and established her as one of Pakistan’s foremost cultural ambassadors.
Opening the evening is acclaimed singer, songwriter and storyteller Arieb Azhar, whose rich baritone voice and captivating stage presence have introduced audiences worldwide to the beauty and depth of Sufi poetry and folk music. Joined by legendary dhol master Ustaad Jaan Ali Khan, celebrated percussionist Amir Khan, and an ensemble of outstanding musicians, Azhar will set the stage with a vibrant musical journey through Pakistan’s diverse cultural landscapes.
Specially curated by Mukhtar Dar, this unique production brings together the ecstatic spirituality of Sufi music with the energy and raw passion of Pakistan’s folk traditions.
