Forward Gallery Opens on Cannon Street

Forward Gallery is proud to launch their new Birmingham city centre gallery space with a new British Contemporary Exhibition.

Over 50 works are displayed as part of the exhibition, featuring will be a selection of works from established artists, many of whom the gallery has worked with for over 15 years. These include Rick GarlandRoxana HallsDanny HowesHorace PanterAnnette PughStephen Earl RogersMark GodwinJames ByrneBambi and Goldie.

Alongside this, Forward Gallery have built up an important collection of blue-chip works by names such as Tracey EminBanksyDavid HockneyDamien HirstGrayson Perry and Bridget Riley.

The team are also are proud to announce some new names to their roster: Paul LemmonColin BrownAmy Dury and reintroducing the unique original 3D wall sculptures of Morgan Howell.

Paul Lemmon is a Birmingham born artist based in Coventry who works in the traditional medium of oil paint. He creates stunning abstracted paintings based on the disruption of digital videos taken from film, TV and social media.

Colin Brown is a well-established artist in Scotland, making a name with his wonderful paintings created using paint and collage.

Amy Dury’s recent notable events include appearing on Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year ’21, and accepted for the 2021 Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize.  In March 2021 she conducted a livestream portrait painting session for the Tate Instagram. She was chosen to respond to Edvard Munch print for Society of Scottish Artists 22/23 Annual Show. In 2024 she exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Show and in early 2025 she is a guest Presenter for two episodes of Sky Arts ‘Artist Masterclasses’

Morgan Howell’s reputation has grown massively over the last 10 years, and we are proud to announce a new partnership with Forward Gallery, showing his amazing 3D sculptural works based on the iconic 7” vinyl single.

You can visit Forward Gallery at it’s new location, 5 Cannon Street. The gallery is free to enter and is open Tuesday to Friday 10:30-17:00, Saturday 10:00-16:00, and by appointment only on Sunday’s and Monday’s.
