Gateley Smithers Purslow expands Midlands footprint with Birmingham appointment

Gateley Smithers Purslow, the multidisciplinary surveying, engineering and architecture practice arm of professional services group, Gateley, has expanded its Midlands presence with the appointment of David Kellaway as a regional manager in Birmingham.

Chartered building surveyor, Kellaway, brings 20 years of experience following roles with Rider Levett Bucknall and Arcadis. He has worked in Birmingham throughout his career, providing surveying, project management and contract administration services for complex projects across the public, commercial and healthcare sectors. He also has vast experience in mentoring and supporting graduates with the Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) process on the RICS Building Surveying pathway.

At Gateley Smithers Purslow, Kellaway will be based out of Gateley’s Edmund Street head office. He will work closely alongside the Midlands regional director, Alex Wright, to develop the Birmingham offering.

On his appointment, Kellaway said: “I’m really excited to be joining Gateley Smithers Purslow with the opportunity to extend its multidisciplinary services to the Birmingham market and establish a team. Being part of Gateley allows us to provide a specialist offering combining technical consultancy skills with legal expertise, and I’m looking forward to working with new colleagues and turning my hand to some great insurance reinstatement projects.”

Wright added: “David will play a key part in supporting our existing workload within the region, as well as further driving the strategic growth and development of our insurance and private works services. He brings a wealth of experience, and we’re really pleased to have him on board in the Midlands.”

With a total headcount of nearly 200 UK wide, Gateley Smithers Purslow’s Midlands offering has grown from its Glaston roots to also include bases in Birmingham, Lincoln and Nottingham to service insurance, public and private sector clients.
