Last Chance for Businesses to Join St Basils’ Big Sleepout and Make a Difference to Young People

St Basils is calling on businesses across Birmingham and the West Midlands to get involved in its annual Big Sleepout, with just a short time left to register for this year’s event.

With nearly 600 people already signed up, the Big Sleepout is set to be a fantastic evening, bringing together businesses, colleagues, friends and individuals who want to make a meaningful difference to young people facing homelessness.

Taking part is a great opportunity for businesses to demonstrate their commitment to their local community, support an important regional charity and bring colleagues together around a shared purpose.

This year’s event promises much more than a night outdoors. Participants can enjoy a free curry, entertainment and a welcoming community atmosphere, while taking part in an experience that helps raise vital funds for young people who need support.

Local businesses making a difference

Corporate support is an important part of the Big Sleepout, and businesses such as Goldman Sachs, Sandland Packaging and Gensler are helping demonstrate how the local business community can come together to support young people.

Whether entering a team, encouraging employees to take part, fundraising or supporting colleagues who are sleeping out, businesses of all sizes can play a valuable role.

For employers, it is also an opportunity to bring teams together outside the workplace, strengthen relationships and make a tangible contribution to the communities in which they operate.

Why the support matters

St Basils works with thousands of young people every year across the West Midlands, helping those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to find somewhere safe to live, develop their skills and build positive futures.

Homelessness can affect every aspect of a young person’s life, from their education and employment to their health, confidence and relationships. With the right support, young people can overcome difficult circumstances and move towards independence.

The money raised through the Big Sleepout helps St Basils continue providing accommodation, practical support and opportunities for young people to change their lives.

Barrie Hodge, Head of Income Generation and Social Value at St Basils, said:

“It’s fantastic to see nearly 600 people already registered for this year’s Big Sleepout. It really shows the strength of our local community and what can be achieved when people come together for a shared cause.

“We would particularly love to see more businesses getting involved. Whether you bring a team of colleagues, support another business taking part or encourage your employees to fundraise, your involvement can make a real difference.

“Behind every person taking part is the opportunity to help a young person access a safe place to live and the support they need to build a brighter future. We know businesses want to make a positive contribution to their communities, and this is a brilliant opportunity to do just that.

“It’s going to be a great night, so if you haven’t registered yet, there’s still time to get involved.”

Don’t miss out, register today

Businesses, colleagues and individuals are encouraged to secure their places and be part of this year’s Big Sleepout.
