Law firm supports acquisition of leading catering company

A long-established Midlands catering firm has been successfully acquired as part of a management buyout, completed with expert advice from specialist lawyers at mfg Solicitors.

The law firm acted on behalf of Dave and Clare Cowin in the purchase of Birmingham-based Robinsons Catering Limited for an undisclosed price.

Family-run Robinsons Catering was founded in 2007 and provides hot and cold catering services for the education, nursery, exhibition and corporate hospitality industries across the region. The NEC, the UK’s largest event space, is among its clients.

Philip Chapman, a partner in mfg’s Corporate division, said: “We are delighted to have acted on behalf of the buyer to complete the acquisition of Robinsons Catering Limited.

“Robinsons is a family business, and with our guidance, Dave and Clare Cowin have now successfully completed a management buyout after running the business for 10 years.

“This marks a new beginning for Dave and Clare as they carry on the legacy of the Robinsons name.”

Dave Cowin added: “I’d like to thank the mfg team for the tremendous support and advice throughout the acquisition process. It can be complex and time-consuming when taking over a business, but the handling of the whole process from start to finish was superb.

“We look forward to building an ever more successful business in the months and years ahead.”

Mr Chapman was supported by colleague Sufyaan Aslim on the acquisition and also worked alongside Ben Davies of Knight Plc, who acted on behalf of the seller to complete the transaction and Richard Newman of Catanneo.
