Law firm Sydney Mitchell appoints new partner

Commercial property law expert Ben Lyons has joined Midlands law firm Sydney Mitchell as a partner.

Having practised across the West Midlands since 2011, he joins Sydney Mitchell from Knights LLP (formerly Thursfields Solicitors) where he was a Senior Associate in the Commercial Real Estate team based at the Solihull office.

As Commercial Property partner at Sydney Mitchell, Ben is based at the firm’s Birmingham city centre office, and will advise the Commercial Property team’s diverse range of clients on the acquisition, disposal, and management of commercial property assets.

“My areas of focus include commercial property sales and purchases, commercial landlord and tenant matters, site development, and secured lending and finance,” says Ben.

“I am incredibly excited to join the team at Sydney Mitchell. In particular, I am looking forward to the opportunity to contribute to a multi-disciplinary firm with a prestigious 260-year heritage, while working with award winning colleagues on complex cases, and delivering the strategic advice for which the firm is renowned.”

Specialising in providing high-calibre commercial property advice that is firmly rooted in the Midlands’ real estate and commercial property market, Sydney Mitchell’s Commercial Property team is recognised for its efficient approach by the Legal 500. The team is dedicated to delivering exceptional service, and handles property transactions across many sectors, representing a diverse range of clients from landlords and tenants, investors, charities, secured lenders, borrowers, and executors.

Shilpa says: “Our team is known for being dedicated and proactive, and always committed to understanding our clients’ businesses thoroughly. Ben has these qualities in spades as well as proven commercial property law expertise, and represents a strong addition to both the team and the firm as a whole. He joins as Sydney Mitchell continues to drive and invest in strengthening its position within the Midlands legal market.”
