Legal 500 recognises seven Sydney Mitchell lawyers in newest guide to the UK’s legal profession

Seven Sydney Mitchell lawyers have been recognised individually in the latest Legal 500 guide to the best solicitors in the UK, published today (30 September 2026).

The firm has also been ranked in ten practice areas including employment, immigration, commercial litigation, insolvency and corporate recovery, debt recovery, commercial property, family, personal injury, contentious trusts and probate, and personal tax, trusts and probate.

“Sydney Mitchell has maintained a strong Legal 500 presence across the Midlands again this year,” comments Karen Moores, senior partner at Sydney Mitchell, which has offices in Birmingham and Solihull.

“Not only have so many of our specialist teams secured excellent Legal 500 rankings, an impressive seven of our lawyers, including partners, team heads and senior associates, are individually recognised for their exceptional work, client service and legal competence.”

Named as Leading Partners by Legal 500 are dispute resolution lawyer Leanne Schneider-Rose, employment lawyer Emma-Louise Hewitt, immigration law expert André Minnaar, and private client solicitors Karen Moores and Tracy Creed.

The Guide also names dispute resolution solicitor Heleena Gandham, and immigration law specialist Melissa Southall as Leading Associates.

The Legal 500 annual Guide’s rankings are based on a range of criteria including the quality, complexity and value of a firm’s and individual’s work, client endorsement and peer recommendation.

The rankings come just a few weeks since separate Legal 500 analysis of client feedback placed Sydney Mitchell as fourth in the West Midlands’ most client recommended law firms.

Together, Legal 500’s rankings are a significant benchmark for the profession and clients alike, says Karen Moores:

“So much of the rankings and individual recognition is based on the experiences and confidence of the businesses, organisations and individuals we serve, and we are delighted our exceptional client service, clear advice and long-lasting relationships are again well highlighted by Legal 500.” Sydney Mitchell LLP has offices in Birmingham and Solihull. The firm has built a reputation as one of the Midlands’ leading independent law firms, advising businesses, organisations and private individuals across a broad range of legal disciplines. Founded over 260 years ago, the firm combines specialist legal expertise with a personal, relationship-led approach that has underpinned its success.
