The Midlands construction sector raised a staggering £167,000 for local charities at the inaugural Midlands Construction Charity Event in September – a night that brought together more than 300 guests from across the region’s building industry.

Hosted in the new Masters Suite at The Belfry on Friday 19th September, the event was the brainchild of four leading independent, family-run firms – Tippers, EH Smith Builders Merchants, Friel Construction and M Lambe Construction – who joined forces to celebrate the strength of Midlands independents while supporting local causes.

The record-breaking total will be split equally between Acorns Children’s Hospice, St Giles Hospice, Tabor Living and the Christy Lambe Foundation, each recognised for their vital work in communities across the region.

“This event was about more than celebrating construction – it was about showing what’s possible when independent businesses stand shoulder to shoulder,” said Joe Tipper, speaking on behalf of the organising companies. “To raise £167,000 in our first year is a testament to the generosity of our industry and the strength of our community.”

Headline sponsors FP McCann, Keystone, Ibstock and Holcim were joined by supporting sponsors Wrekin, Brett Martin, BS Eaton, Hitachi, British Gypsum, Ideal Standard, MGF, Bristan and JCB, whose backing helped turn the idea into a standout success.
