Counter Terrorism

Creating a safer city centre sits at the heart of our Safer Colmore work. We’re committed to supporting businesses, workers and visitors by strengthening preparedness, improving awareness, and working closely with partners across the city.

A major part of this commitment is helping our District understand and prepare for the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, widely known as Martyn’s Law. Introduced following recommendations from the Manchester Arena Inquiry, Martyn’s Law is designed to strengthen the UK’s readiness for terrorist threats and reduce the risk of harm to the public.

Through our Safer Colmore Working Group, Birmingham Colmore is supporting businesses with training sessions, workshops, practical guidance and strong partnerships.

Our goal is simple: to help every venue and event organiser in the District feel informed, prepared and supported.
