Birmingham-based strategic land promoter Richborough has strengthened its planning and technical team with three new appointments, including a new Technical Coordinator and an industry placement student joining its Central region.
James Little has joined Richborough as Technical Coordinator, working from the company’s Birmingham headquarters alongside Technical Director Stuart Nelmes and the wider Technical team. Nottingham Trent University student Jack Gallagher has also joined the Birmingham-based Central team as Assistant Land & Planning Manager for his industry placement year.
The appointments come as Richborough continues to expand its portfolio of strategic land opportunities and invest in the specialist expertise required to identify constraints, develop solutions and progress sites through the planning process.
Little brings experience in civil engineering and technical design, having previously worked at Couch Consulting, Woods Hardwick and Hyder Consulting. His experience spans planning applications through to detailed design, with a particular focus on civil engineering applications. At Richborough, he will assess technical challenges associated with strategic land opportunities, coordinating with specialist consultants and internal teams to help develop practical solutions and improve the deliverability of sites.
Gallagher is studying Property Development and Planning at Nottingham Trent University and joins Richborough following a period of work experience with the company last year. During his placement, he will support the Central team across its portfolio of strategic land projects, gaining practical experience across the land promotion and planning process while continuing his studies.
Richborough’s Central region covers strategic land opportunities across Warwickshire, Oxfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire.
The business has also appointed Matthew Galvin as Planning Manager for its South West regional team. Based in the region, Galvin will oversee the preparation and submission of residential planning applications and manage live applications through the planning process, working with Regional Director Katherine Titley and Richborough’s centralised Planning Delivery team.
Galvin joins from CALA Group, where he worked as a Planner, having previously held a similar role at Form Design Group. He holds a First-Class degree in Urban Design, Planning and Development from Oxford Brookes University and is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) and an Associate Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (AssocRTPI).
Together, the appointments strengthen Richborough’s in-house planning and technical capability, supporting the business as it progresses a growing portfolio of strategic land opportunities and works with landowners and housebuilder partners to bring sites forward for development.
