Go Jauntly has added 21 free walking routes across Birmingham and Liverpool City Region, around 40 miles of new ground split across two new collections: This City Moves: Birmingham Trails and This City Moves: Liverpool Trails. Sign ups are open now for the This City Moves Challenge itself, more on that below. It’s part of This City Moves, a partnership with Birmingham City Council, Liverpool City Region Combined Authority and National Trust, funded by the UK Government and Active Travel England.
Whether you’re filling the school holidays, walking the dog, or after a decent stretch of the legs, there’s a route nearby. From wildlife spotting and panoramic city views to sand dunes, sculpture trails and a slice of local history, every walk is free to follow on the Go Jauntly app and easily reached by public transport.
THIS CITY MOVES CHALLENGE: SIGN UPS ARE OPEN. JOIN THE CHALLENGE
Birmingham and Liverpool are going head to head. From Monday 7 September, we’re running a free six week walking and wheeling challenge, built on nothing more than walking for wellbeing, friendly rivalry and bragging rights.
Pick your team: Birmingham, Liverpool, or Team Rest of the World if you’re joining in from anywhere else. Then pick your daily step goal, 1,000, 3,000 or 5,000 steps, and stick with it for six weeks. Every day you hit your goal helps your team climb the leaderboard, so however far you walk, you count.
Sign ups are open now on the free Go Jauntly app. Tap the link or search This City Moves to join in. Use the new routes below to get some practice in before the challenge begins on Monday 7 September.
