Two new partners among 23 promotions at Mills and Reeve’s Birmingham office

A law firm has announced the promotion of more than 20 people in the Midlands, including two to partner.

Mills & Reeve has promoted 23 people in its Birmingham office across a range of roles and practice areas, with two employees becoming partners.

The promotions came into effect from 1 June.

They include corporate, commercial, real estate, employment, and insurance disputes, as well as business services, reflecting the breadth of the firm’s client offering and continued investment in key sectors and regions.

As part of the latest round of promotions, Alexa Jones has been promoted to partner in the insurance disputes team, with Hayley Simonds becoming corporate partner.

Alexa specialises in resolving professional negligence claims and policy disputes.

She advises insurers and professionals on coverage and liability issues, as well as professional disciplinary matters.

Hayley advises public and private companies, private equity houses and high net worth individuals on all aspects of private company law.

She is experienced in assisting clients with mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganisations and matters of corporate governance.

Jayne Hussey, (pictured) partner and head of office at Mills & Reeve in the Midlands, said: “Firstly, huge congratulations to everyone who has been promoted – people who have demonstrated strong commitment, hard work, and a real appetite to succeed.

“Each person brings deep expertise and strong client relationships to our Birmingham office, and they will play an important role in shaping the future of the firm – both in the region and across our key markets.”

Overall, 97 people have been promoted at Mills & Reeve, including eight to partner. It takes the total number of partners to 195 across the firm’s seven offices.

Hussey added:“The latest round of promotions shows our continued investment in supporting, developing and empowering our people, as we strive to deliver our long-term growth strategy.

“This commitment is reflected in our recent Investors in People (IiP) platinum accreditation – a standard we have proudly retained and one that is achieved by only 8% of assessed organisations.”
