Keep your valuables safe

We have been informed in a slight increase in thefts of small items from various locations across the District.  These thefts have involved phones and wallets being taken from tables, sometimes whilst the thief distracts the victim (for example by placing documents over a phone before taking it from the table).

John-Jo Von Johnson, Street Operations Manager for Colmore BID gives the following advice:

“Colmore Business District is, on the whole, a safe location for work or a night out. however, it is important to be vigilant against opportunist crimes.  I would encourage people to keep bags and other small items in their line of sight and not to keep phones out on tables etc.  If you are a victim of this type of crime, please call it through to West Midlands Police via 101”.

Colmore BID provides regular updates about issues that impact on businesses in the District.  If you work at a company based in the District and would like to sign up, please email jonathan.bryce@colmorebid.co.uk.
