Birmingham Colmore is calling on businesses and the local community to donate essential food, household items and festive treats to support families in Ladywood this Christmas, continuing its partnership with the Ladywood Community Project.

Organised through Birmingham Colmore’s Colmore Community working group, the Christmas donation drive aims to help local families and children by collecting essential supplies and Christmas treats. Donations will be used to put together hampers for families in the Ladywood area, helping to bring some extra support and festive cheer to the community.

What can you donate?

Businesses and individuals are encouraged to donate items from the following list:

Food and drink

  • Sugar
  • Long-life and UHT milk
  • Tea and coffee
  • Tinned food
  • Tinned fruit
  • Pasta
  • Selection boxes, Christmas chocolate and sweets

Household essentials and toiletries

  • Toiletries
  • Washing powder
  • Washing-up liquid
  • Razors and shaving foam
  • Deodorant
  • Toilet rolls and kitchen rolls

  • Tissues

Every donation will help contribute towards the Christmas hampers and support families who may be facing additional pressures during the festive period.

How to get involved

Donations should be dropped off at Birmingham & Midland Institute by Wednesday 9 December. Please check their website for opening times.

Birmingham Colmore is also looking for volunteers to help pack the Christmas hampers on Tuesday 15 December, from 1pm to 3pm at BMI. Businesses and individuals who can spare a couple of hours are encouraged to get involved and help prepare the donations for distribution to local families.

Through its Colmore Community working group, Birmingham Colmore continues to work with local organisations to support communities across Birmingham and make a positive difference in and beyond the District.
