One of Birmingham’s most celebrated restaurants, Asha’s, is set to launch a brand-new Indian street food concept at Society Birmingham, located in the heart of Colmore Business District. The new trader will officially open on Monday 16 March, bringing another exciting dining option to the District.
The independent food and drink destination will welcome the renowned restaurant as its latest trader with the launch of Asha’s Indian Street Food. Known for its refined approach to Indian cuisine, the new concept will bring the restaurant’s signature bold flavours, rich heritage and authentic quality to Society in a more relaxed and informal setting.
Inspired by the bustling streets of India, Asha’s Indian Street Food will introduce a vibrant menu designed for casual, street-food-style dining. Highlights include chicken paratha rolls and chilli paneer rolls, offering a choice of juicy chicken or crispy chilli paneer wrapped in a warm paratha. Guests will also be able to enjoy Delhi samosa chaat — crushed samosas topped with chickpeas, yoghurt, chutneys and spices — alongside vegetable aloo tikki chaat, featuring golden potato patties layered with tangy chutneys and yoghurt. Each dish has been created to capture the spirit of Indian street food while staying true to the restaurant’s well-established culinary roots.
Since opening in Birmingham in 2006, Asha’s has become a household name within the city’s dining scene. Celebrating 20 years in the city, the restaurant is known for its premium ingredients, expertly balanced spices and elegant interpretations of classic Indian dishes, as well as attracting a fanbase of global megastars.
Its arrival at Society marks an exciting new chapter for the brand, bringing one of the city’s most loved restaurants into one of Birmingham’s most vibrant independent food and drink venues with a concept created specifically for the setting. It will join Society Birmingham’s growing mix of independent food traders, expanding the range of global cuisines available under one roof.
Bobby Bassi, Director at Asha’s, said:
“At Asha’s we’ve always loved to be at the forefront of the city’s dining community and with this in mind we can’t wait to pitch up at Society Birmingham and bring our brand new Indian street food concept to life. We’re excited to share our love of Indian cuisine in a more informal, social setting and to introduce our dishes to both loyal fans and new guests alike.”
Nick Gregory, Founder at Society Birmingham, added:
“Asha’s is an iconic Birmingham brand, and we’re incredibly proud to be welcoming them into Society. Their reputation speaks for itself, and we know our guests are going to love seeing such a well-respected local restaurant join our community of independent traders. The fact that they’re launching a completely new concept, which shares the same relaxed and social feel that defines Society, makes it even more exciting for us. We’re passionate about bringing the best and most diverse cuisine and street food to the people and Asha’s Indian Street Food’s arrival really embodies this.”
