A Birmingham charity is appealing for city centre volunteers to help make the most of its annual fundraising day. Next Friday, March 1, is Big Yellow Friday when people around the UK will be taking part in yellow themed activities to raise funds and awareness for Children’s Liver Disease Foundation (CLDF) the only UK charity dedicated to fighting all childhood liver diseases.
“Our staff will be undertaking bucket collections in Birmingham city centre, but we’re a very small team and some volunteer help would make a big difference” said Chief Executive, Alison Taylor. “If anyone has even half an hour to spare during morning or evening rush hour or at lunchtime, we would be really grateful. Yellow fancy dress is entirely optional!”
The charity relies on voluntary donations to continue its work which includes providing information and emotional support to families affected by childhood liver disease and funding vital research.
“Last year we raised £65,000 and we’re determined to beat that this year,” continued Alison. “Every penny counts so anyone who gives even half an hour of their time is helping to make a real difference to families throughout the UK.”
