City Centre Segments – Consultation and Implementation

Significant proposals are set out by Birmingham City Council on access in and around the city centre.

The plans can be found here.

This site is open to comments by individuals and organisations alike. We would encourage you to read through the plans carefully and choose to comment.

Birmingham City Council has been implementing these plans on the streets in certain areas which has altered traffic flow patterns. We are advised that this is an experimental process.

A statement from Colmore BID
“Colmore BID shares Birmingham City Council’s view that people deserve clean air to breathe and that climate change is an existential threat to our planet and our species. We have commented on the detail of the Birmingham City Council proposal as it affects the District and we look forward to early evaluation of the detailed measures as well as the effects of the overall intervention. We must be sure that the right balance between ‘pain and gain’ is being made.”
