Colmore BID Supports Ladywood Community Project

With Colmore Business District falling in the Ladywood Ward of Birmingham, which is one of the most deprived areas in the UK, we feel it’s our responsibility as a BID to support the community as much as possible.

We are pleased to announce our support for Ladywood Community Project, an organisation that has been helping families within the Ladywood community for over three decades.

As the new school year approaches the charity is looking to support as many families as possible to provide new school uniforms before September.

The charity has already helped 19 families, 39 children, this summer but have a long list of referrals for other families in need of support ahead of the new academic year.

On average it costs £45 to provide a new uniform for each child and we’re appealing to as many businesses within the BID to donate this amount to support the purchase of a full uniform for a single child.

As well as organising donations for new school uniforms we are also going to be collecting donations for School Bags, Lunch Boxes, vests and pants for the children.

These items do need to be new but we are happy for you to drop them to the Colmore BID Office, alternatively we can come and collect from your office in the district. We will be taking donations until Monday 5 September.

You can head over to our dedicated project page, here, to submit a donation request for either yourself or your business and we’ll pass the full amount of your donation on to Ladywood Community Project, alternatively you can contact kelsey.dwyer@colmorebid.co.uk for more information.
