Discover Birmingham through the eyes of its emerging artists at Birmingham Open 26.
Birmingham Open is an annual art competition created by Colmore Life. Now in its third year, this competition and exhibition is being held in partnership with International Day of Birmingham (IDOB) and Central BID, celebrating the city’s vibrant creative talent.
This year’s theme, Birmingham, invited artists aged 18 and over to respond to the city in all its forms, from its people and places to its culture, heritage and global connections. More than 150 artists from across Birmingham and the West Midlands entered the competition, resulting in a diverse exhibition featuring photography, painting, printmaking, illustration and mixed media.
The shortlisted artworks are now on display across Snow Hill Square and Victoria Square, transforming these public spaces into free outdoor galleries for everyone to enjoy.
Visitors can also help decide the winner of the People’s Choice Award by voting for their favourite artwork via QR code at the exhibition on Snow Hill Square. The award winner will receive a £1,000 prize, a professional portfolio review and future exhibition opportunities.
Whether you’re an art enthusiast, a supporter of local creativity or simply passing through the city centre, Birmingham Open 26 offers a unique opportunity to experience Birmingham’s stories through the work of its emerging artists.
