Davisons Law trainee completes Paris Marathon and smashes fundraising target for Cure Leukaemia

A trainee legal executive for a law firm with offices based in Birmingham has successfully completed her first marathon challenge, raising nearly £1,500 for blood cancer charity Cure Leukaemia.

Chloe Shaw, 24, a Trainee Legal Executive in the Family Department at Davisons Law, completed the iconic Paris Marathon in an impressive 4 hours 42 minutes, having trained through the winter months to take on the challenge.

After setting an initial target of £1,000, Chloe went on to raise an incredible £1,419 for Cure Leukaemia, significantly exceeding her revised goal of £1,250.

Chloe, who has been with Davisons Law for over five years after starting as an apprentice in September 2020, said: “Completing my first marathon was an incredible experience, and doing it in Paris made it even more special. Running past landmarks like the Eiffel Tower kept me going during the tough moments. The support I’ve received has been overwhelming, and I’m so proud to have raised £1,419 for Cure Leukaemia. Knowing that this money will help fund vital clinical trials and give hope to children and families affected by blood cancer makes all those early morning training runs worthwhile.”

Darryl Wilkes, Equity Director at Davisons Law, said: “We’re incredibly proud of Chloe’s achievement. To complete your first marathon is a huge accomplishment, but to do so whilst raising nearly £1,500 for Cure Leukaemia is truly exceptional. Chloe’s dedication throughout her training and her commitment to our partnership with Cure Leukaemia perfectly exemplifies the values we hold at Davisons Law. She’s been an inspiration to the whole team.”

The Paris Marathon challenge represents the latest in a series of fundraising events undertaken by Davisons Law to support Cure Leukaemia. The firm is one of the first members of Club 10, a groundbreaking initiative launched by the charity to fund vital clinical trials for children battling blood cancer.

This year, Davisons Law is once again aiming to raise £10,000 to support the ATICUS Paediatric Transplant Network, which operates across ten children’s hospitals nationwide. The firm has already confirmed its first fundraising event of the year, with a team taking on the Wolf Run challenge.

Chloe added: “I’d encourage anyone thinking about taking on a challenge for charity to just go for it. The sense of achievement when you cross that finish line, knowing you’ve made a difference, is incredible. I’m already thinking about what challenge I might take on next!”
