HOLLIE HERO: Zack Palmer

This months Hollie Hero is what Take Action Bystander Training looks like in real life.

When Jane Harvey recently met Zack Palmer, he shared a brilliant example of how he had put his Hollie Gazzard Trust Take Action Bystander Training into practice.

In his role as a Senior Community Support Officer, Zack noticed a woman being harassed by a passer-by and decided to step in. Using techniques he learned through the training, Zack offered support safely and appropriately, showing allyship without escalating the situation or creating confrontation.

And that is exactly why this training matters. We can all make a difference.

Sometimes it is simply about recognising that something isn’t right, knowing how to respond safely and having the confidence to act.

One person choosing not to look the other way can make someone else feel safer, supported and seen.

Thank you, Zack, for putting your training into practice and for sharing your story. A real-life Hollie Hero!
