Supporting Staff Wellbeing: A Space to Recharge

Staff at Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust work tirelessly to support the mental health and emotional wellbeing of children and families in hospital. To help these dedicated professionals maintain their own wellbeing, the Trust is creating a staff wellbeing space – a calm, restorative environment where team members can pause, recharge, and feel supported.

The Trust is inviting the community to contribute to this initiative. Donations of items, services, or even small gestures can make a meaningful difference in creating a welcoming and restorative environment. A list of “dream items” for the space has been prepared:

  • Velvertiser / hot chocolate machine
  • Sensory lighting
  • Panini machine
  • Mini fridge
  • Fairy lights
  • Rug
  • Cushions
  • Big plant
  • Blankets

Contributions are welcome in the following ways:

  • Donation of an item from the list above (brand new only)
  • Donation of items or services suitable for fundraising raffle prizes
  • Financial donations to support the purchase of items

All donations will directly support the creation of a space that prioritizes the wellbeing of staff who care for patients every day.

Those wishing to contribute are encouraged to contact Hollie Richardson at:
Email: hollie.richardson@nhs.net

By supporting this initiative, the community can help ensure that the staff who care for children and families in hospital also have a space to care for themselves.
