CFO Appointment signals next phase of growth for Richborough

Richborough has appointed Richard Myatt as Chief Financial Officer, strengthening its senior leadership team as it continues to scale across its residential and commercial land portfolios.

Richard brings more than 30 years’ experience in senior finance roles, with a strong track record of supporting growth in complex, multi-site businesses. A Chartered Accountant who qualified with Ernst & Young, he has held senior positions including Finance Director at Jewson and SIG plc, and CFO at Palletways, National Timber Group and Sentry Fire Safety Group.

Drawn to Richborough’s entrepreneurial culture, Richard is particularly motivated by the people side of finance — understanding what drives performance across the business and its wider network of stakeholders. His experience in adjacent sectors brings a broad commercial perspective to the business as it navigates an evolving operating environment.

At Richborough, Richard will oversee financial strategy as the business continues its rapid expansion, ensuring strong financial management across a growing pipeline of residential and commercial sites, while working closely with its leadership team to deliver on our strategy and create lasting value for landowners and partners. With the property sector subject to wider political and economic volatility, a key focus will be on building long-term resilience.

Richard Myatt, Chief Financial Officer at Richborough, said: “Richborough has built a strong reputation for delivering value through its land promotion model and demonstrated innovation in the sector. I’m particularly drawn to the entrepreneurial nature of the business and the opportunity to work closely with people across the organisation to understand what drives its success. My focus will be on ensuring the business remains resilient, with the financial strength to continue growing its portfolio and delivering for landowners, partners and investors.”

Paul Campbell, Chief Executive at Richborough, added: “Richard’s appointment reflects our continued investment in senior talent to support our expanding portfolio and long-term growth strategy. His breadth of experience and people-focused approach to finance will be a valuable asset as we continue to scale the business.”

Richborough received investment from Terra Firma’s Principal Capital Group in 2022, supported by Partners Group and the Hands Family Office.
