Club 1879

Following the resounding sold-out success of our Cabaret and Cabernet series; Musical theatre Thursday’s and ‘Icons’ Friday’s, we now bring to you, the sensational Club 1879 each and every Saturday night, here at Downstairs at the Grand.

As the hotel will be celebrating almost 150 years of trade (with a big gap in the middle!), we thought we’d honour the original opening date of The Grand Hotel and transport you back to the Golden Age of Speakeasy celebrations.
Underground and unspoken, our live music nights have proven to be insanely popular.

Harking back to the prohibition era; we’ve designed a 3 course menu and live music programme to put Gatsby himself to shame.
Get your black tie and party gear together because this is not any ordinary night out…

We’re channelling everything secret and subversive about the city.
Dates exclusively released to members… passwords… tickets slipped to guests inconspicuously inside of books and various vessels!
Mobile phones are banned with ‘No Tell Tape’ being applied to cameras because here at the Club 1879 conversation is KEY… plus we don’t want everyone to know!

It’s like nothing seen before in Birmingham. Exquisite attire, delicious fare and raucous live music alongside a sumptuous selection of cocktails.
This is a one-of-a-kind experience that’s already sold out for Thursday and Friday nights so far, so what are you waiting for? Secure your exclusive place in the city’s most secretive place to be.

Downstairs At The Grand, on Saturday nights, launching soon.
Shhhhhh…
