Growing law firm opens new office following £30million investment

FBC Manby Bowdler’s expansion into Knowle after securing a £30 million investment has been welcomed by Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council.

An official launch event for the leading law firm’s new office was held last month with specialists in property issues, wills and tax planning already working from the new High Street location.

Blake Thomas, business development director for FBC Manby Bowdler, said the firm was excited to be part of the borough’s thriving economy.

He said: “Solihull borough’s draft economic strategy gives us real confidence that we’re growing in the right place. We’re delighted to establish our presence in Knowle and become part of this vibrant community.

“The focus on supporting business growth makes Solihull an ideal location for our expansion.

“We’re particularly enthusiastic about the borough’s approach to inclusive growth – ensuring economic development benefits both people and places – which mirrors our own commitment to stellar service for everyone in the communities we serve.

“There is growing demand for our legal expertise in this area, particularly following recent tax changes, and we’re looking forward to serving both businesses and residents from our new Knowle base.

Cllr Ian Courts, Deputy Leader of Solihull Council and Lead Member for Managed Growth, said: “FBC Manby Bowdler’s expansion into Knowle, backed by a £30 million investment, highlights the confidence they have in Solihull as a place to grow and succeed. The move is testament to our business-friendly infrastructure and reflects the obvious locational and lifestyle advantages we offer.

“I’m really pleased to welcome FBC to Solihull and we look forward to playing a part in the next chapter of their continued success.”

The Knowle office is staffed by three senior solicitors: partner Tracy Ashby, who specialises in wills, probate and lifetime planning; Laura Vernon, who focuses on property litigation; and Gareth Ruddock, who handles commercial litigation and property disputes.

FBC Manby Bowdler is the founding firm of the new Adeptio Law Group which secured a £30 million investment from Horizon Capital in 2024. The group plans to double its size in the next 24 months, including the creation of approximately 20 new jobs.

The new office in Knowle can be found at Chester Court, 1673 High St, Knowle, Solihull B93 0LL. To make an appointment, call 0800 111 6144 or visit www.fbcmb.co.uk/ for more information.
