One of the UK’s fastest growing legal practices has appointed an enfranchisement solicitor as part of its record-breaking recruitment drive, responding to surging demand for expert legal advice in connection with leasehold properties.

Davisons Law has welcomed Tornike Purcell, an award-winning specialist residential property solicitor, to its Birmingham Colmore Row office to establish and lead the firm’s new enfranchisement team.

Tornike, who brings over 10 years’ experience and was named ‘Young Professional of the Year’ at the annual Enfranchisement and Right to Manage Awards 2017, started with the firm in August. His expertise covers statutory lease extensions, statutory freehold claims, collective enfranchisement claims, Right of First Refusal Claims and Right to Manage Claims. Tornike has extensive experience handling high-value residential property transactions for clients including prestigious landlords across Mayfair and Knightsbridge, overseas royal families and national government bodies.

Daniel Stones, Director of Davisons Law’s Colmore Row office, said: “Enfranchisement law is an incredibly specialist area that requires deep expertise. Tornike’s appointment represents a significant step forward in our property law offering. With the anticipated leasehold reforms, having someone of Tornike’s calibre leading the enfranchisement team from our Colmore Row office puts us at the forefront of the evolving leasehold market.”

Tornike added: “I’m delighted to join Davisons Law and grow their enfranchisement practice. The complexity of leasehold law means specialist expertise is essential, and I’m excited to build a team that can guide clients through these technical processes with confidence.”

The appointment forms part of Davisons Law’s largest-ever recruitment drive that they announced in January, with over 53 positions available across its 17-office network. The Colmore Row office, with 29 staff, will see the enfranchisement team grow organically to meet demand, with services available nationwide reflecting the specialist nature of this legal area.
