Walks, Tours and Trails
Birmingham Colmore’s Walks, Tours and Trails programme brings the District to life through engaging, in-person guided experiences that uncover its stories, creativity, and character.
From historic streets to contemporary art, hidden heritage to seasonal themes, these experiences invite people to explore Colmore in new ways – whether you work here every day or are visiting for the first time. Scheduled tours take place at specific times of year and are listed on our events page [link to events landing page].
Originally launched as a series of in-person walks, the programme has grown into a year-round offer that connects people to the District’s past, present, and culture through the Colmore Life app.
What We Offer
Our in-person walks and trails showcase the diversity of Colmore through a mix of curated routes and themed experiences, including:
- Art Walks – discovering public art, galleries, and creative spaces
- History Walks – uncovering the stories, people, and places that shaped the District
- Gods & Monsters Walk – a popular seasonal trail exploring Birmingham’s myths, legends, and darker history, usually delivered around Halloween
Each experience is designed to be accessible, engaging, and rooted in the unique character of Colmore.
Digital Trails on the Colmore Life App
Our walks and trails now extend beyond the streets, with a growing collection of digital routes available on the Colmore Life app. Delivered by the Colmore Culture [link to working group page] working group, the app highlights a range of themed trails and guides, from food and drink destinations to cultural spots, pet-friendly venues, and more. It’s the easiest way to explore Colmore at your own pace, whenever it suits you.
