Colmore is celebrating a fantastic night of success at the 9th Midlands Food, Drink & Hospitality Awards, held at The Eastside Rooms in Birmingham on Monday 22 June.
The evening brought together hospitality professionals, business leaders and industry champions from across the region to recognise excellence in what continues to be a challenging climate for the sector. It was a powerful reminder of the resilience, creativity and community spirit that define Midlands hospitality.
We are delighted that Colmore Food Festival was named ‘Food/Drink Festival of the Year’, recognising the continued impact of one of the city’s most popular and widely attended events.
Adding to the celebration, Alex Nicholson-Evans, our City Curator at Birmingham Colmore, was crowned Hospitality Personality of the Year. This well-deserved accolade reflects Alex’s passion, energy and commitment to championing Birmingham’s city centre and creating memorable experiences for visitors, businesses and residents alike.
Colmore business district venues were also recognised on the night, underlining the strength and diversity of hospitality within the area. Nearby winners included F1 Arcade Birmingham, which took home Themed/Entertainment Venue of the Year, while excitingly, KIBOU, awarded East Asian Restaurant of the Year, is set to open a new venue in Colmore in the coming year.
The awards also paid tribute to one of the region’s most influential figures, Andreas Antona, who received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award for his extraordinary contribution to Birmingham’s culinary reputation over more than four decades.
With winners representing every corner of the Midlands, the evening highlighted the exceptional quality and innovation that continues to position Birmingham and the wider region as a leading UK hospitality destination.
As the sector navigates ongoing challenges, moments like this reinforce a clear message: the Midlands hospitality community remains united, ambitious and determined to keep raising the bar.
